Your gut microbiome is a living, dynamic, and constantly adapting ecosystem. Therefore, the results of your Vivabioma test represent a snapshot of your microbiota at the exact moment of collection.
To ensure that this "image" is as representative as possible of your usual health status, we recommend taking into account the following factors that could temporarily alter the results:
-
Use of medications and supplements:
- Antibiotics: They drastically alter the microbial community. To obtain a reliable baseline profile, it is necessary to wait at least three months after finishing the treatment.
- Prebiotics or probiotics: Their recent use can skew the results. If you wish to know your real state without supplementation, we recommend suspending them a few days before the collection.
- Recent diet and habits: Sudden changes in diet (such as trips, festivities, or short-term extreme diets) quickly modify the abundance of certain bacteria. We suggest maintaining your normal eating habits during the entire week prior to the test.
- Acute health problems: Episodes of gastrointestinal infections, food poisoning, acute diarrhea, or the use of laxatives temporarily alter the ecosystem's balance. It is preferable to wait for your intestinal transit to return to normal before proceeding to collect the sample.
